Joe Miller

Finance and Accounting

From the Buckeye State, Joe brings many years of business experience to his job as LOCC’s accountant, maintaining all the church’s financial accounts. A high school bookkeeping class taught by his football coach (he’s a lifelong athlete) and an affinity for math set Joe on his future career path. He majored in accounting, and earned a degree in Business Administration from Cleveland State University, then worked for companies in both Indiana and Ohio. After 34 years with Cleveland Clinics Hospital Systems, Joe retired from his role as Corporate Accounting Manager.

Joe met his wife Patty at a softball game when a fortuitously hit foul ball landed in the middle of her team’s field. She ended up watching his game, and the rest was history. They married in 1977 and have two adult children: their daughter and her family live in Virginia; and their son and his family are in Texas. The Millers have five grandchildren. Patty retired from her job as a medical secretary in 2013 and headed south to The Villages; Joe followed upon his retirement four months later. In 2017, while on the neighboring driving range, Joe noticed Live Oaks; he and Patty soon began attending regularly and currently serve together on the Awareness Team. In their free time, the Millers also enjoy golfing and competitive bowling.
