Scott Wible

Communications Director

Scott moved to The Villages from Minnesota in 2019 when he was invited to become Communications Director for Live Oaks Community Church. He oversees all the church’s communications (weekly bulletins, church-wide email communiqués, website content, event and activity promotions, social media, advertising, and more), working closely with pastors, elders, and staff to ensure an effective flow of information within and about LOCC.

In a career encompassing both communications and ministry, Scott has been a magazine editor; advertising account executive; and freelance writer. Additionally, he served seven years with Youth for Christ/Campus Life International; was interim youth pastor at two different churches; taught in a private Christian school (grades 7-12); directed the adult ministries programs at his church; and served as writer and editor for his church’s communications team. He also was an editor, project manager, and content coordinator for two private Christian universities in the Twin Cities. Scott holds a B.S. in Journalism from Kansas State University and an M.A. in Theological Studies from Bethel Seminary in St. Paul, Minn.

Scott and wife Kay (who earned a B.S. in Journalism from the University of Kansas) met during a Bible study in 1978 and married in 1984. Whenever possible, they love traveling to Minnesota, Kansas, or Texas to visit their three grown daughters, sons-in-law, and eight adorable grandkids.
