Ray Erickson

Elder

Ray was raised in a Christian home in Bradley, Ill. Church was a big part of his family life growing up, but it was at the age of 10 that Ray felt led to respond personally to the Gospel and give his life to Jesus. He rededicated himself to the Lord while in college, and was involved in many Christian activities, such as youth choirs and lay witness missions.

While at Mt. Vernon Nazarene University, Ray met Becky Kimmer, and they were married in 1979. He earned a B.S. in Business Administration and later, an M.B.A. from Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio. He and Becky lived in Georgia for 22 years and were very active in their church serving in the hospitality ministry; Ray also was a substitute Sunday School teacher and sang in the church choir.

After retiring, Ray and Becky moved to Florida and soon found Live Oaks Community Church. They’ve served in the Greeter ministry for 11 years, currently at Southern Oaks, and as Encore Group leaders. Ray also is part of the Encore Coach Team, and the Count Team. In addition, Ray works part-time as a staff supervisor for the Fenney Village golf courses. The Ericksons have one married son, a daughter-in-law, and two beautiful granddaughters.
