Wendy Armstrong

Ministries Administrative Assistant

Wendy joined the LOCC staff in October 2022, providing valuable administrative support primarily for the Encore and Discipleship ministry areas, as well to the church’s Finance office.

Wendy grew up in West Monroe, La. Her dad worked for IBM and her mom was a teacher – later, a paralegal. She met future husband James – then an Air Force (USAF) reservist – when both were students at East Texas Baptist University in Marshall, Texas. The two married in 1993, right after Wendy earned her degree in mathematics. A year later, James graduated and the couple relocated to Ft. Worth, Texas. While James attended Southwestern Baptist Seminary, Wendy worked in admissions at Dallas Baptist University; they started their family shortly before he finished his M.Div. degree.

Succeeding years saw the Armstrongs serving around the country and overseas in ministry while James was a chaplain in the USAF. While Wendy was being “Mom” to their three (now adult) children, she occasionally took part-time jobs as well, including as Preschool Coordinator at their church in Texas. Today, continuing to wear multiple hats, Wendy is also a travel agent with 3D Travel Agency. “Travel has always been important for our family, a way to make memories with our kids,” she notes. “I love being able to help others create memories, too.”
