The Return of The King ep. 22: The Kingdom Declared
What if revival breaks out in our nation? What if God does something, maybe one last time around the world before He returns? Maybe we can be a part of a movement of God that we’ve never seen in our generation.
– Pastor James Armstrong
This weekend, we studied Revelation 11:15–19, “The Kingdom Declared.” As the seventh trumpet sounds, heaven erupts in worship with the triumphant proclamation that “The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever.” This passage shifts our focus from the judgments of Revelation to the ultimate hope of every believer—the certainty that Christ’s kingdom will reign forever and God’s promises will be completely fulfilled.
Worship the King Who Reigns Forever
The response of heaven is immediate: the twenty-four elders fall before God in worship, giving thanks because His sovereign rule is now fully revealed. Though the nations have long resisted His authority, God’s perfect justice and righteous judgment will prevail. At the same time, He remembers His faithful servants, rewarding all who fear His name—both small and great. This passage reminds us that our greatest calling is not to build earthly kingdoms but to faithfully worship, serve, and live as citizens of Christ’s eternal kingdom.
God’s Covenant Promises Stand Forever
The vision concludes with the opening of God’s heavenly temple and the appearance of the ark of His covenant—a powerful reminder that every promise God has made will be fulfilled. Through Christ, believers have access to God’s presence and complete assurance that His covenant faithfulness never fails. Even as judgment comes upon the rebellious, God’s people can rest confidently knowing that history is moving exactly where He has ordained: toward the everlasting reign of King Jesus.

Join us next week as we continue our study in Revelation with “The Woman, the Dragon, and the Child” from Revelation 12:1–6. We’ll explore the cosmic conflict between God’s redemptive plan and Satan’s opposition, discovering how God’s sovereign protection and ultimate victory give believers confidence to remain faithful in every generation.
