The Return of The King ep. 20: The Bittersweet Book
“He doesn’t love us a lot today, kind of a little tomorrow, but loves us more again on Wednesday. No. His love for us never wavers. And God is all-knowing. He knows what’s best. ”
A Pause in the Judgment
This weekend, we studied Revelation 10:1–11, “The Bittersweet Book.” In the midst of the trumpet judgments, God provides a pause to remind His people that He remains fully in control and that His Word can be trusted.
The Sweetness and Bitterness of God’s Word
Through the vision of a mighty angel and a little scroll, John learns that God’s Word is both sweet and bitter—sweet because it reveals God’s grace, salvation, and promises, yet bitter because it confronts sin and proclaims coming judgment.
A Commission to Proclaim the Message
John is then recommissioned to proclaim God’s message to the nations, reminding us that every believer is called not only to receive God’s Word but also to share it. As God’s plan moves steadily toward fulfillment, we are encouraged to trust His timing, stand firmly on His truth, and faithfully carry the gospel to a world in need of hope.
Up Next
Join us next week as we continue our journey through Revelation and explore The Two Witnesses from Revelation 11:1–14. Discover how God raises up faithful witnesses to boldly proclaim His truth in a world that desperately needs to hear it—and how their testimony points us to the power, faithfulness, and ultimate victory of Christ.
