One Nation Under God Ep.1:
God’s Sovereignty Over the Nations
This past weekend, we kicked off our new series, One Nation Under God, with the message “God’s Sovereignty Over the Nations” from Daniel 2:20-21 and Psalm 33:10-12.
These powerful passages remind us that no matter what’s happening in the world, God is firmly in control. He sets up kings, tears down kingdoms, and directs the course of history. Not with randomness, but with purpose.
“He changes the times and seasons; he removes kings and establishes kings.” (Daniel 2:21)
“The Lord frustrates the counsel of the nations; he thwarts the plans of the peoples. The counsel of the Lord stands forever…” (Psalm 33:10-11)
Key Takeaways from the Message:
- God rules over every nation. There’s no power, policy, or leader beyond His authority.
- His purposes will not be stopped. While human plans may rise and fall, God’s counsel remains forever.
- Our peace is in His sovereignty. Even in times of uncertainty, we can rest in the truth that our God is on the throne.
Coming Up: The Divine Design Behind Every Nation
This weekend, we’ll continue the series with “The Divine Design Behind Every Nation” from Acts 17:26-27.
In this passage, Paul explains that God not only created every nation, but He determined their boundaries and time periods so that people would seek Him.
“From one man he has made every nationality to live over the whole earth and has determined their appointed times and the boundaries of where they live. He did this so that they might seek God…” (Acts 17:26-27)
It’s a powerful reminder that God has a redemptive plan. Not just for individuals, but for nations. And He’s still working in and through them to draw people to Himself.
We hope you’ll join us this weekend as we continue to explore how to live faithfully and prayerfully in a time when the world desperately needs truth, wisdom, and hope.
