I Am Ep. 5: The Way, the Truth, and the Light
“We live in a world of absolute doubt and uncertainty about a way forward, the reality of truth, and meaning of life. The church, however, responds with hope.”
– C.N. Willborn
This past weekend, we continued our journey through Jesus’ defining claims with His words to the disciples on the night before the cross: “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life.”
The disciples were anxious and uncertain about what was coming. Jesus didn’t hand them a map. He offered Himself. He is the Way when the path is unclear, the Truth when the world is confusing, and the Life when hope feels far away.
Faith isn’t about knowing every step ahead; it’s about knowing the One who leads you home.
Key Takeaways
-
Jesus doesn’t just show the way. He is the way to the Father.
-
Truth isn’t an idea; it’s found in the person of Christ.
-
Life in Him means peace that the world cannot give and hope that never fades.
As we move through uncertain times, remember that Jesus’ words are both promise and invitation: “Don’t let your heart be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in Me.”

Jesus reminds us that spiritual fruitfulness flows only from connection with Him. Apart from Him, we can do nothing. But in Him, our lives bear eternal fruit.
A Thanksgiving Reflection
This week, as we gather around tables filled with food and gratitude, let’s remember the greatest reason we give thanks… the One who gave His life so we could have ours.
As 1 Thessalonians 5:18 reminds us, “Give thanks in everything; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”
From all of us at Live Oaks Community Church, we wish you a blessed and joyful Thanksgiving.
