I Am Ep. 1: The Bread of Life
” The cost of food in the kingdom is hunger for the Bread of Life“
-Arthur W. Pink
This past weekend, we launched our new series I AM: The 7 Defining Claims of Jesus, a journey into seven statements that reveal who Jesus is and what He alone can provide.
We began with His first declaration in John 6: “I am the Bread of Life.” It came after Jesus miraculously fed a crowd of thousands, yet many followed Him only for more food. Jesus pointed them beyond what fills the stomach to what sustains the soul.
When He said, “Whoever comes to Me will never hunger,” He wasn’t talking about physical hunger. He was inviting us to find lasting satisfaction in Him alone, the One who gives eternal life to all who believe.
Key Takeaways:
- Jesus doesn’t just give bread. He is the bread. He alone satisfies our deepest spiritual hunger.
- Temporary things can fill us for a moment, but only Jesus fills us forever.
- Believing in Him means daily coming to Him for life, strength, and peace.
As we move through this series, remember that every “I AM” statement is more than a name. It’s a revelation of Jesus’ divine identity and His invitation to know Him personally.
Up Next: “I AM: The Door” (John 10:7-9)
Jesus is not one of many ways to God. He is the way. Through Him, we enter into safety, belonging, and abundant life. Don’t miss it!
