Empowered ep.3: Learning to Live Beyond Myself

This weekend, we wrapped up our Empowered: Unleashing Your God-Given Gifts series with the message Learning to Live Beyond Myself, based on Luke 17:7-10.

In this passage, Jesus challenges our natural desire for recognition, reminding us that true service is not about seeking reward but about faithful obedience:

“So you also, when you have done all that you were commanded, should say, ‘We are unworthy servants; we have only done our duty.’” (Luke 17:10)

Key Takeaways from This Week’s Message:

Serving is an act of obedience, not a means for recognition. Jesus calls us to serve out of love and devotion, not for applause.

God equips us to serve. The gifts we’ve been given are meant to be used—not for our own glory, but to build up His kingdom.

Humility is the heart of true service. When we serve with humility, we reflect the nature of Christ, who came not to be served, but to serve (Mark 10:45).

What’s Next? A Special Weekend with Dr. Don Whitney!

This coming weekend, we have the privilege of welcoming Dr. Don Whitney, former pastor, professor, and author of Spiritual Disciplines for the Christian Life. Dr. Whitney has helped countless believers develop deeper spiritual habits that strengthen their faith.

This is a weekend you won’t want to miss—invite a friend and come ready to grow!

Returning to Ecclesiastes

After Dr. Whitney’s visit, we’ll pick back up with our Chasing the Wind series, looking at Ecclesiastes 4:13-16—”Wisdom that Outlasts Popularity”. Solomon’s words will challenge us to think about what truly lasts beyond fleeting fame and human approval.

We look forward to gathering with you this weekend for a special time of learning and encouragement!
