The Book of Daniel Ep. 6: Faith Over Fear

“There is no attribute more comforting to His children than that of God’s sovereignty. Under the most adverse circumstances, in the most severe trials, they believe that Sovereignty has ordained their afflictions, that Sovereignty overrules them, and that Sovereignty will sanctify them.”

– Charles Spurgeon

Daniel 6 brought us face to face with one of the most courageous acts of faith in all of Scripture. Despite the threat of death, Daniel refused to compromise his devotion to God. He continued to pray. Not in secret, but with the windows open, just as he had always done.

For his obedience, Daniel was thrown into a lions’ den. But God shut the mouths of the lions, proving once again that no earthly power can overcome the plans of heaven.

Key Takeaways:

  • Fear may roar, but faith stands firm.
  • Obedience to God is never wasted, even when it comes with risk.
  • God honors those who honor Him, and His presence goes with us into every trial.
  • No matter what you’re facing, you are never alone. Choose faith over fear. He is with you in the den.
