Kirk Carver

Elder

Kirk is the son of a Navy submariner. Born in Connecticut, he has lived abroad in Africa and Europe, as well as in South Carolina, Mississippi, California, Missouri, Maryland, and now, Florida.

Kirk and his wife Kay married in 1986. In 1998, Kirk became a follower of Jesus at a small, evangelical Methodist church in Dunkirk, Md. Later, he and Kay transitioned to the Fellowship of Grace Brethren Churches, and in 2006, accepted a call to cross-cultural missions work with Grace Brethren International Missions (Now Encompass World Partners), serving full-time in Chad, Africa, from December 2008 until July 2014.

A retired Doctor of Chiropractic Medicine, Kirk had a practice in Maryland for 19 years. He also trained at Capital Bible Seminary in Lanham, Md. (Kay has a degree in Radio, Television, and Film Journalism from Texas Christian University). The Carvers came to LOCC in 2014 after relocating to be near Kirk’s parents. Kirk was Mobilization Pastor for two years (until October of 2021); he and Kay now serve remotely with Encompass World Partners, where Kirk is the coordinator of Chadian Ministries and Kay volunteers in donor communications.

Both enjoy spending time with family and friends; leading an LOCC Encore Group; serving on the Awareness Team, and reaching out to those who have not yet met Jesus. Recreationally, Kirk enjoys powerlifting, and Kay is an avid cyclist and triathlete.
