The Return of The King ep. 2: The Divine Outline of Revelation
“May we catch enough of a vision of Christ that we will not be satisfied unless we know Him more fully.”
John Piper
This past weekend, we stepped together into a brand new series, The Return of the King. We opened the book of Revelation by looking at The Revelation of Jesus Christ from Revelation 1:1-8, reminding ourselves right from the start that this book is about revealing Jesus, not hiding Him. Before diving deep, we paused to take a simple walk through the whole book, seeing how God gave Revelation to encourage the church, strengthen weary believers, and remind us that Jesus reigns right now and will one day return in glory. From the first verses, our hearts were anchored in the promise that history is not spiraling out of control, it is moving steadily toward the victory of our faithful King.
Key Takeaways
- Revelation begins by fixing our attention on Jesus, showing us who He is before telling us what will happen.
- God gave this book to bless His people, offering hope and confidence to those who listen and trust Him.
- No matter what the world looks like, Jesus remains the Alpha and the Omega, holding our past, present, and future.
Up Next
This weekend, we continue with The Divine Outline of Revelation from Revelation 1:9-20, where we will see how God Himself gives us a clear framework for understanding this powerful book. Join us as we discover how God’s outline brings clarity, confidence, and hope as we follow the risen King.
